29 January 2012Ravens 1-3 Aldershot
This was a very disjointed match with neither team managing to play good football on the day.
Aldershot got the first 2 goals , both of which were a little fortunate.
Ravens found it hard to create many chances but their only gpal of the match was a good effort
with some good passing and a good finnish from Luke B.
Ravens continued to push for the all important equaliser but in was Aldershot who manged to get
a third goal and end any hopes of a result on the day.

22 January 2012Ravens 4 - 1 Mytchett
It was Mychett who dominated the first period of the match and were rewarded with an excellent goal
from a shot hit from outside the box. (0-1).
Ravens worked themselves back into contention with a goal from a Tom B corner that found Arron in the box
who slotted it in for the goal. (1-1).
The momentum of the match had swung to the Ravens and they scored another goal, this time from a well taken chip
by Luke M that beat the keeper (2-1).
The third goal came from some great interplay by Luke B who found Josh on the left who then crossed for Luke M to get his second
of the match. ((3-1).
The final goal was the result of good work by Clarky whos shot came off the keeper and was put in the net by one of the Mychett defenders.
(4-1).
Overall a good result for the team and well deserved win for their efforts.

27 November 2011Ravens 5 - 3 Farnborough
This was an exciting match to watch with the Ravens playing good football and working hard throughout the match.
Ravens started the game well and were on the scoreboard withinn 5 mins when Luke B got on the end of a pass from George
and lobbed the goalie (1-0)
The second came quickly after when a shot from Luke B was deflected out by the keeper and Clarkey hit a fine shot that went in off the post. (2-0).
Farnborough then had their best period of the match and scored 2 goals and got a third from an unluckly own goal (2-3).
Ravens started second half much brighter and were rewarded for their effort with another Luke B goal (3-3).
By now the Ravens were in control of the match and George won the ball in mid-field and put Luke B through who beat the goalie to make it (4-3).
The last goal came from a fine shot by George that hit the cross bar and Monty followed up to head it home to make the final score 5-3.
Congratulations to the whole team for a fine display that should give the confidence going into the next match.

13 November 2011Ravens2-3 Hartley Wintney
The was a very good contest that could have gone either way.
Ravens showed good movement and control in the early exchanges but it was HW who got the first goal (1-0)
Ravens hit back after the break with a well struck shot from Luke M. (1-1)
It was the Ravens who then took the lead with a great goal from Luke B who got on the end of a good cross from Luke M.(1-2)
At this stage it looked like the Ravens would be the likely winners but HW came back with two goals in the second half to just take the honours (3-2).
Henry in goal made some good saves and the whole team played well in an entertaining match for the fans.

16 October 2011Ravens 1 - 1 Liss
This was a very competitive game and the Ravens deserved the hard fought draw.
It was Liss who scored first with a breakaway that was the only chance they created in the fist half.
Ravens came close on a number of occasions only to be thwarted by the Liss keeper
The Ravens defence was strong throughout the match with Tom H making some important tackles on the left and Brad and George
dominating the middle.
Ravens could have had a penalty at one end when Luke B was pushed off the ball by the Liss goalie, but it was Liss who got a penalty at the other end after another
push inide the box. Fortunately the Liss player put the ball over the cross bar.
This gave the Ravens more confidence and they eventually equalised from a corner taken by Brad and headed in by Luke B.
Luke then had to leave the field after taking a kick to the face when he scored.
Well done to the boys who gave 100% to the end.

2 October 2011Ravens 7-6 Tongham AET
Ravens made a good start to the game against premier division opposition.
Luke M scored early on ,only to be ruled off-side by the linesman.
It was Tongham who scored first from confusion after an injury. (1-0).
The game could easily have gotten away from the Ravens after Tongham raced to a 3 goal lead.
Tongham looked strong up front but were looking less secure at the back.
Ravens came back with a well taken goal by Clarky. (3-1).
Again, Tongham came back to make it 4-1.
Ravens hit back again with a great cross from Clarky that found Luke B. (4-2).
Just before this goal we lost Henry to a wrist injury after he had made 3 magnificent saves .
Ravens were gettig the upper hand and looked the more composed team but it was Tongham who scored again to make it 5-2.
Luke B scored another for the Ravens to bring the Ravens back to 5-4.
Ravens had Tongham rattled and looked the better team and when Luke B scored at the near post to make it 5-5
the Ravens supporters went wild on the touchline.
The match went into extra time and it was the Ravens who scored soon after kick-off . Luke B caused problems in the box for Tongham and he
put it in the net from close range (6-5 to Ravens).
The second goal of extra time was a cracker. A good through ball from Olly found Luke B who put it through to Clarky to score. (7-5).
Credit to Tongham, they didn't give up and scored a consolation goal at the end. (7-6).
Credit to the boys who worked hard on a hot day and thoroughly deserved their victory.
That really was a tremendous effort today lads, I was very proud of you. What we need to do now is make sure that we have the same workrate and attitude for every game.
Thanks Graham

11 September 2011Farnborough 5 - 3 Ravens
This was a typical first game of the season, scrappy at times but played with lots of enthusiasm by both teams.
The first goal came from Farnborough after a good attacking period by the Ravens. (1-0).
Ravens hit straight back from a corner. Luke M hit a fine cross that Luke B got on the end of, to head home the equaliser (1-1)
Farnborough came back again, after Alex had made a good initial save that was put away on the rebound.(2-1).
Ravens then had a period of sustained pressure that led to another Luke B goal. (2-2).
After the break, Farnborough scored again when Ravens failed to clear the danger in defence (3-2).
It was 4-2 soon after to Farnborough ,again following some good play by the Ravens.
Luke B got his hat-trick by scoring at the other end almost from the re-start. (4-3).
Unfortunately ,Farnborough sealed the match with a 5th goal near the end that was unlucky for the Ravens, but reward to Farnborough for some good chasing in attack. (5-3).
Lots of good things for the Ravens to build on for the next game.

3 September 2011Fleet Spurs 2 - 2 Ravens
In a game where I made 101 changes throughout I was very impressed with the attitude that you all showed.
Conceeding a goal very late on was disappointing but I think on the balance of play came off with a fair result.
Thanks go to Phil and Fleet for organising the game and we all wish you every success for the season ahead.

13 March 2011Ravens 1 - 2 Aldershot
Aldershot put on a good show and deserved the win.
The game started well for Ravens and after only a few minutes Luke made a good pass to Bradley who thumped home the opener. This seemed to wake Aldershot who quickly got level and after a mix up in the area it was their forward who reacted first to fire home from close range. With Ravens 2-1 down at half time it was all still to play for.
The second half was much quieter with neither team taking control and no further goals scored.
Whilst we played well in patches we too often let the ball bounce and didn't win enough challenges which is what we must focus on for next week to finish the season with a win.
Graham
6 March 2011Ravens 3 - 0 Farnborough
On a fine sunny afternoon both teams started the game competitively with both sides trying to get the first goal.
After 25 mins it was the Ravens who scored first. A Tom B shot was deflected away by the keeper but Arron was in the right position to put the rebound
in for the first goal (1-0)
At the start of the second half it was the Ravens who scored again. Dan won the ball on half way and after a good passing move with James M put in a good cross for Arron to again get on the end
of it and make it 2-0.
Ravens were now well in control of the game and pushed hard to get another score. The Ravens defence was again solid with Ramps , Ryan , Tom H and Harrry
dominating the opposing attack.
Number three came from a long range effort from Tom B that thundered into the top corner of the net (3-0).
Another fine win for the boys whom worked hard all match against a determined Farnborough team,
Andrew
27 February 2011Ravens 1 - 3 Alton
Ravens did extremely with only 10 men against a side that will probably win the division.
For much of the game Ravens were as good if not better than the opposition and it was only at the end when we tired that they went away.
Well done today boys, you did better than me!
Graham
20 March 2011H Wintney 3 - 3 Ravens
The first few minutes of the game were pretty even with both teams pushing to attack.
Ravens got the first goal with a shot from Luke on the right that came back off the keeper for Brad to slot home (1-0)
Hartley Wintney came back with a goal through the middle that squeezed past Alex.
This was becoming a well contested game and it was the Ravens who struck back to regain the lead.
A throw from George found Luke, who crossed it to find Brad who blasted it into the top of the net (2-1).
Hartley came back right from the start of the second half and brought the score back to 2-2.
A Ravens mix up at the back let Hartley in for a third goal against the run of play (2-3)
Ravens continued to battle and managed to earn a penalty with only minutes to go after a handball on their line.
James M stepped up and calmly beat the keeper for a well earned draw. (3-3).
At the death Alex made some great saves to keep them out and we also missed chances at the other end.
A draw was a fair result and the boys can be proud of their final league game
Andrew
13 February 2011Aldershot 3 - 9 Ravens
Well played Ravens
On a awful day with pouring rain the Ravens played some of their best football this season. You really are improving every week
Ravens started very well and got 3 quick goals that could all be attributed to the effort that you all put in. At half time the score was 4-1 and it gave me the opportunity to try some players in different positions and whilst not all of them worked the effort was still evident and the goals kept coming. George playing up front for the first time scored twice as did Bradley, Luke managed to get 5 but all of the goals were scored from good approach play and intelligent football by all of the team.
The defence played well as a unit and whilst conceeded 3 goals looked very strong throughout the match including an impressive sliding goal line clearance by James M. The final score of 9-3 to Ravens gave a good indication of the dominance you played with.
I would also like to say a huge thank you to you all for the way in which you conducted yourselves before the match. You organised the warm up with very little supervision and the start you got was a direct result of your preperation.

6th February 2011Farnborough 1 - 3 Ravens
Against the wind and with the slope against them it was the Ravens that made the brighter start.
The first goal came from Brad after a goal mouth scramble (1-0)
The second came quickly after from a looping shot by Olly (2-0)
The third goal came from a Tom B corner that fell to Olly , who cooly lined up the shot to score (3-0).
The second half was more frustrating to watch as the Ravens came close a number of times.
It was Farnborough, who to their credit did not give up who scored the last goal against the run of play (3-1).
Another good performance by the boys who are stringing together a fine run of matches.
Andrew
30 January 2011Ravens 5 - 0 Mytchett
It was another good perfromance by the Ravens with Luke leading from the front.
It was all Ravens from the first whistle and the first goal came from a cross by Josh and a header from Luke at close range (1-0)
The second came quickly after and it was Luke again who was in the right place at the right time to put it in from close range (2-0)
Just after the start of the second half it was that combination again that did the damage. Josh crossed to Luke, who headed in number three (3-0)Number four came from a typical long throw from George that reached the box and Luke again beat the keeper (4-0)
By now it was all one way traffic and only a matter of time before number five came, again from that man Luke at close range.
Once again the boys worked hard for each other and played good foottball througout the match.
Although Luke got the goals today there were many other good performances and he certainly wouldn't have got them without the work in midfield.
The defence held firm for a second week running, lets see if we can get the 3rd clean sheet next week.

23 January 2011Grayshott 0 - 1 Ravens
On a chilly afternoon and a square shaped pitch that hampered the Raven's passing game the Ravens came out on top.
In the first half and playing with the slope the Ravens created a number of chances.
The deadlock was eventually broken from a corner from Tom B that was headed in by Olly. (1-0)
The second half continued to be well contested and both sides came close.
The best chance fell to the Ravens, with an open goal in front but the ball went over the bar.
In an tense final few minutes the Ravens hung on to a well deserved victory.
Once again the Ravens defence remained tight and the whole team worked hard both on and off the ball.
Well done boys on another enjoyable game to watch.
Andrew
16 January 2011Chiddingfold 1-2 Ravens
Ravens started the game exceptionally well on a large pitch that suited a passing game.
Despite dominating the first period it was Chiddingfold that scored the first goal against the run of play
This set back did not upset the Ravens as they continued to play their best football of the season.
The Ravens pulled a goal back from a well placed shot by Brad. (1-1).
The second half was more evenly contested but it was the Ravens who got the vital second goal.
After a goal mouth scramble Josh put the ball in from three yards out. (2-1).
Ravens kept control for the rest of the game and thoroughly deserved the victory.
The Chiddingfold team acknowledged that we were the best team they had played all season.
Well done boys on a fine display against one of the top teams in the league.
PS. I would just like to say a personal thank you to all the boys as I thought that the work rate and commitment was exceptional today, keep it up. Graham

09 January 2011Liss 4 - 3 Ravens
Somehow we lost!
A few lapses from the Ravens cost us a game which we should have won against a side that will be challenging for the top spot at the end of the season.
We played very well in patches and competed for every ball but allowed Liss to steal it at the end after leading 3 -2.
George covering in goal played extremely well and made one very brave save (how are the earings?).
Lets build on this and make sure we desrve to and succeed in winning next week.

12 December 2010Ravens FC 7 -2 Hook Blues
Ravens put the pressure on immediately against a 9 man Hook team.
The first goal came from a Tom B free kick that went in off their goalie. (1-0)
The second came quickly after from another corner. This time Olly got the header (2-0)
The third came from Brad who hit the ball first time leaving their keeper no chance (3-0)
Number four came from a free kick taken by James M who found the head of Tom B. (4-0)
The fifth came from a penalty appeal. Alex made the long walk from his own goal to slot it in (5-0)
Brad got nimber six but we missed the build up to this one as we getting out teas and coffees !! (6-0)
It was Hook who started the better after the break and all their effort was rewarded when they earned a penalty for hand ball
which they converted (6-1)
Ravens went off the boil and it was Hook who scored again (6-2).
Ravens started to play again and got another penalty which Tom B scored (7-2)
Overall it was an entertaining game with the Ravens playing some good football and hook showing great spirit with only 9 men.

21 November 2010Hook 2 - 6 Ravens FC
Despite the sunday morning kick-off, Ravens made a good start and scored quickly. A well placed Tom B corner found Josh in the box who hit it home (1-0). Hook came back against the run of play after a defensive mix up let them in (1-1). Ravens again hit back quickly with a fine individual effort from Tom B down the left hand side and a great shot into the top left of the goal leaving their keeper no chance. (2-1).
The floodgates now opened and the third goal came from a close range effort from Arron who smashed it into the back of the net (3-1).
Number four came from a cross from Luke that fell to Josh who scored his second of the match after being well positioned in the box (4-1).
Just before half-time it was Luke, who had a fine game upfront ,who scored the fifth from inside the box (5-1).
After the break the second half was more evenly contested with the Ravens went down to ten men as Arron went off with a suspected pulled muscle.
Hook did not give up and pulled a goal back later in the second half. (5-2). Ravens capped off a fine win with a late goal that was created by good passing and a fine finnish from Brad who had come close to scoring all game.(6-2).
Well played to all the boys who thoroughly deserved the victory playing some fine football. Well done to George who filled in well in goal.
Andrew
14 November 2010Ravens 2 - 2 Chiddingfold
On a chilly and wet afternoon both teams produced an exciting game of football.
It was the Ravens who scored first. Josh lined the ball to Brad who crossed for Dan who had made a good run into the box to finnish. (1-0)
Ravens came close again from another Brad cross that fell to Luke in the middle but their goalie made a great save.
Both Josh and Harry put some fine through balls to the front men to run onto as the Ravens dominated the attacking play.
Ravens came close again from a well struck Tom B free kick that was only kept out by another fine save by their keeeper.
Brad broke clear and was only denied once again by their keeper and the post.
A rare attack from Chiddingfold led to a penalty after Ramps (who had been excellent in the middle of the defence) made an instinctive save on the line with his hand.
Although the penalty hit the cross-bar it was put in on the re-bound. (1-1)
Down to ten men the Ravens did not give up but it was Chiddingfold who got the next goal when the ball fell to one of their players outside the box from a corner.
The shot was well struck and their was nothing Alex could do. (1-2).
The boys continued to battle well and showed great character to come back to equalise. A free kick in the middle of the park broke through to Luke who smashed it past their keeper (2-2).
Overall the Ravens deserved more from the game given the number of chances they created but did well to pull back the draw with only ten men.

7 November 2010Mytchett 2 - 4 Ravens FC
Ravens record their first win of the season.
Once again the Ravens started the match really well, creating good chances and playing entertaining football.
All this effort was rewarded with the first goal . It came from Tom B corner that was well struck and went into the net.(1-0).
The Ravens defence remained strong throughout this opening period and both Tom H and Ramps made some important tackles.
Mychett did not give up and despite a tremendous save from Alex( who had an impressive match) from the initial shot the ball was put in from the rebound (1-1)
Ravens hit back after some good work from Brad down the left who put in a fine cross for Luke to score the second. (2-1).
Mychett came back again from a free kick on the edge of the box. Alex made two great saves but despite his efforts the ball fell to Mychett who scored. (2-2).
Back came the Ravens who got the third goal from another well placed Tom B free kick that was headed into the net by Brad who was a menace for Mychett all afternoon. (3-2).
The final goal came from another set piece play. A corner from Tom B led to a goal mouth scramble and the ball came out to James M whom was well positioned on the edge of the box. James hit a
fine shot that beat the keeper on the inside post. (4-2).
At this stage the coaches and parents started to relax as the first victory of the season was secured.
All the boys deserve great credit for a tremendous win that once again was earned through hard work and some great football.
Congratulations to the whole team, Graham and Pete for a thoroughly deserved win.

31 October 2010Camberley 3 - 2 Ravens
This was a well contested match and both teams played well in the opening period of play.
Both teams created chances but it was Camberley who got the first goal from a break down the left and a well placed chip past the keeper.
Their second came from a deflection in the box that fell to one of their players who scored. (0-2)
After the break the Ravens made a fast start and scored quickly from a Tom B corner that was headed home by Olly.(2-1).
Ravens continued to press hard and nearly equalised from another excellent Tom B corner that hit the post.
Ravens got their reward for their hard work when Olly put an excellent ball through from midfield to James M who stayed calm and placed the ball
past the keeper. (2-2).
Ravens came close again from a free kick that fell to Luke who struck the ball well but unfortunately it went over the bar.
It was at this stage an even contest, but it was Camberley who got the decisive goal close to the end from a long ball that was put away by their striker (2-3).
It was a great game to watch and the boys once again showed what they are capable of and deserved more for all their effort.
Andrew
24 October 2010Ravens 3 - 4 H Wintney
What a strange game!
Hartley Wintney started the better and were very soon one goal up after a neat finish. Ravens got back into the match after a superb freekick from Tom B that left the goalie no chance at all. Unfortunately we seemed to stop playing after this and really couldn't complain when Hartley Wintney scored a second and then a third just before half time.
After a stern talking to at half time the boys came out the second and constantly put themselves under pressure by giving the ball away.Hartley Wintney eventually got a 4th and looked as though they could score at will as we continued to be unable to put 2 passes together.
All of a sudden something changed and the boys found the fight and determination we know they have. After some close passing George found himself through on goal and finished well. Ravens were now on top and a couple of minutes later after a good challenge a pass by Harry Luke found himself 1 on 1 with the keeper and hit the back of the net. Despite Ravens best efforts they finally ran out of time and the final result was 4-3
There were some good performances but we must create the urgency and the drive that we showed for the last 5 minutes for the entire game next week.
Graham
17 October 2010Burymead 6 -2 Ravens
On a fine crisp afternoon for football it was the Ravens who made the better start.
Early pressure led to a corner from Tom B that found the head of James who just put it over the bar.
The pitch itself was small which hampered the Ravens passing game.
Despite this , it was the Ravens who scored first with a long looping shot from Brad that beat the goalie (1-0).
Burymead came back with three quick goals. the first from a deflectioon that landed at the feet of one of their players who scored from within the box (1-1).
The second came from a long range effort and the third from another shot wide out (1-3).
Ther fourth goal came from free kick that wwent over the heads of the defence and landed at the feet of one of the Burymead players who scored from close range (1-4).
At the start of the second half the Ravens came back from a long throw from George that was headed home by Olly.(2-4)
George's long throws proved an effective attacking weapon on the smaller than normal pitch.
After a good spell by the Ravens unfortunately it was Burymead who scored again with a shot from the right hand side. (2-5)
By now the game was getting more physical and the Ravens did not give up trying.
Right at the end Burymead got their last goal from a corner that went in on the far post. (2-6).
Credit to the boys who never gave up. The overall scoreline did not reflect the overall balance of play.
Andrew
10th October 2010Ravens 2-2 Camberley
It was clear from the start that the Ravens were up for this return match following last weeks defeat.
The increased belief and intensity were clear from the start and it all paid off when it was the Ravens who got the first goal.
It came from a move down the left and a well placed shot by James M beating the goalie on the far post. (1-0)
George came close soon after with a shot that just went wide.
Tom H put in a good tackle to win the ball and put a nice through ball to James M and only a spectacular save by the Camberley goalie kept the
ball out.
The first Camberley goal came from a free kick on the edge of the box. (1-1) By now it was an excellent contest but it was Camberley who got the second goal for them. After some excellent defending and a goal line clearance by Ryan, the ball fell to a Camberley player on the edge of the box and the resulting strike went into the back of the net. (2-1)
Ravens had a penalty shout turned down at the other end as it appreared James had received a push in the back.
Ravens earned a free kick outside the box and Tom B stepped up to hit a fine shot that rebounded off their keeper and Dan was in the right place at the right time to slot the ball into the back of the net (2-2).
Ravens continued to press hard and created some chances but the game ended in a draw.
It was a fine effort by all the players and the result should give the team renewed confidence for the next games.
Andrew
3 October 2010Camberley 8 -1 Ravens
Ravens made a positive start to the match with the wind behind them in the first half.
Both teams created chances in relatively good conditions and a firm wide pitch.
It was Camberley who scored the first goal with a relatively weak shot that managed to squeeze through the outstretched arms of Alex.
Camberley scored their second from a corner and the resulting goal mouth scramble. (2-0)
Ravens came back strongly and Bradley had a goal disallowed for offside.
The third Camberley goal came from a long ball through the middle and was well taken by their striker. (3-0)
Ravens started to play some better football and put together some good passing movements.
Unfortunately it was not enough to stop Camberley from scoring another goal from a cross (4-0).
Ravens continued to battle on and came close after a good run and cross from Olly failed to come into contact with two Ravens players in the box.
Camberley scored their fifth goal from a breakaway as Ravens were pressing at the other end. (5-0)
Ravens pulled one back from a corner taken by Luke and headed in by Olly. (5-1).
Despite the best efforts of the Ravens, the game went away from us and Camberley scored a further three goals to make the finishing scoreline 8-1.
Ravens won't have to wait long for the chance to make amends when they face Camberley again in the league.

26 September 2010Ravens FC 0-1 Grayshott
Ravens had to make a few changes to the regular starting line up with George and Ramps missing in the centre of defence.
After a few minutes of play it was Greyshott who managed to get the ball over the line but the goal was disallowed for off-side.
The first half was a scrappy affair with both teams failing to get on top.
In the second half Alex made a good save to keep Greyshot out and the Ravens created a chance at the other end soon afterwards with some good wing play by James setting up a chance for Luke who narrowly put the ball wide from a header.
Unfortunately Geryshott got the only goal of the game from a breakaway down the left hand side of the pitch which proved to be the decider
on a chilly afternoon.
Andrew
19 September 2010Alton Utd 5 - 0 Ravens FC
At the start of the match it was Alton who put the pressure on the Ravens goal and Alex had to make some good saves to keep Alton out. Despite this it was Alton who got the first goal which came from a kick from Alex that landed at the feet of an Alton player who immediately kicked it back into the Ravens goal.
The Alton second came from a free kick, with the ball rebounding off a defender and being put in from close range.
Ravens started the second half well and created some good chances, however Alton managed to breakout and scored their third goal from outside the box.
Ravens never gave up against a physically bigger team but we knew it was not going to be our day when we went down to ten men when Olly received a red card. This sparked an increase in intensity from the Ravens and once again they pushed hard to create more chances on goal.
Alton scored their fourth goal from a free kick which was given on the edge of the box. It was unclear from the touchline why the free kick had been given but despite this Alton scored from the resulting free kick.
The fifth goal came down the left side of the pitch as the Ravens team worked hard to contain the Alton attack.
Although the overall result was disappointing the team did not give up and look forward to the return fixture at home.
Andrew
12 September 2010Ravens 2 -2 Burymead
The first period of play was pretty even with both teams working hard to gain possession.
The Ravens defence was again well organised and made some strong tackles. (Tom H, George, Ramps and Arron)
Just before the end of the first half it was Burymead who scored the first goal from the edge of the box,
with a shot that went over the top of Alex into the top of the net.
As the second half got underway, it was Burymead who again scored with a very similar goal to the first. (0-2)
Ravens continued to battle hard to get back into the game and put Burymead under constant pressure creating a number of half chances.
All the effort paid off when a perfectly placed Tom B free kick was met by Bradley, who scored a fine header into the back of the net (1-2).
The intensity of the game lifted as the momentum swung in the Raven's favour.
Bradley won a free kick on the edge of the box and Tom B stepped up to hit a blistering shot into the back of the net to even the score (2-2).
The last few minutes of the game were tense as both teams looked to gain the winning goal.
In the end it finished 2-2 and the Ravens can be pleased with another hard earned draw.

5 September 2010Ravens 2 - 2 Liss
Ravens made a strong, if not scrappy start to the first match of the season.
Good pressure by the Ravens forced a corner and they had a number of shots on goal.
As the first half progressed there was a good contest in midfield for possession.
It was Liss who scored the first goal just before the interval, breaking through the centre of what had been a tight defence.
Ravens made a bright start to the second half creating a couple of half chances through Tom B and James M.
A great shot by Tom B was only kept out by a brilliant save by their keeper.
Eventually it was a "thunderbolt" from Tom B from well outside the box that put the Ravens back on level terms. (1-1).
Ravens were now well on top and a shot from Olly came close and was only kept out by a fine save from their keeper.
Unfortunately Liss scored on a counter attack against the run of play.
Ravens did not give up and it was a fine individual effort by James M who beat his man and put the ball past the keeper
that earned the draw.
Overall, it was a pleasing display with many positives for the next match.
